A request for proposals has been issued for upgrading the monitoring system in the Coos County jail at 200 E. Second St. in Coquille.

Work will include replacing internal and external cameras, monitors, digital video recorders, wiring and cabling. An additional 16 internal cameras will be installed to cover areas of the jail not being monitored presently. The jail also is requesting that five additional cameras, one additional DVR and one additional monitor be included in the pricing; equipment will be kept by jail maintenance staff to be used as replacements as needed.

The notice of intent to award will be issued by 5 p.m. on June 6.
