Seven students in Portland Community College‘s Excellence in Trades Apprenticeship Program took part in a five-day workshop over the course of their spring break that combined classroom learning, site visits and hands-on training with members of Cement Masons Local 555. The workshop was funded by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries and Oregon Department of Transportation, who collaborated with the Cement Masons and PCC to give pre-apprenticeship students exposure to the trade. More photos after the jump.
