On Tuesday we published an article in the 91视频 titled, 鈥�Portland Locales grab spotlight.鈥�

The article looked at the role that Portland real estate plays in the film industry. In the course of my reporting I had the chance to speak with Bobby Warberg, the location manager for TNT’s television show “Leverage.”

One of the interesting challenges of using private property and public spaces for filming is just how quickly film crews need to adapt to changing conditions. For instance, if a scene starts filming in the rain and the weather clears up, crews need to supplement the rain with sprinklers to maintain consistency.

Another noteworthy example that I didn’t get to include in the article popped up when talking to Warberg.

Not long ago, I was riding my bike to work and saw the Leverage film crews shooting a scene at Director Park. It appeared to be a pretty exciting scenario: SWAT teams and security guards with big guns were stationed around the court.

I asked Warberg if he remembered what scene they were shooting. He did, and said it was the 鈥�.鈥� I haven’t seen it, but it has something to do with a terrorist attack and a sniper.

Originally crews were going to shoot the scene at Portland State University but didn’t really mesh too well with the idea of a pretend sniper.

So they had to rally to a new location, which from my perspective made for an entertaining commute.
