A long-vacant space adjacent to the Sizzle Pie pizza restaurant on East Burnside Street is being renovated into a bar and connected to the restaurant by Robert Cot茅 Construction. Work on the 1,300-square-foot space includes demolition of a portion of the wall between the spaces, firming up of floor joists, new electrical and HVAC systems, installation of a 100-gallon hot water heater and coolers, dishwashers, and beer taps, and matching finishes to the restaurant side. ADA-compliant bathrooms have been installed, and a corridor was built to connect to Sizzle Pie鈥檚 back patio space, where a deck will be built. A concrete-top bar was installed, along with bar shelves made from oriented strand board. The bar is expected to open in October.
