Rem Koolhaas has been the subject of more than one documentary, but the latest one proposed comes with an intriguing twist.

Tomas Koolhaas started a on Kickstarter almost one month ago with the hopes of collecting $30,000 in pledges to be used to finish a full-length documentary he’s making about his famous architect father.

The clock is ticking on the project, which has to hit its dollar goal by 6:42 p.m. (EST) on New Year’s Day in order to be funded. It’s going to be close. With 23 hours to go, the project still needs roughly $7,000 in pledges.

But if any Kickstarter project can convince design fans to put down their party hats and donate a couple of dollars in the midst of holiday revelry, the Koolhaas documentary just might be it. After all, this is a campaign that, in just a few days, jumped from less than $5,000 in pledges to a little more than $23,000.

Fingers crossed that Tomas and his dream can keep the momentum going a few hours – and few dollars — longer .
