Bremik Construction is building the Cameron Apartments, an 8-story apartment building on a quarter-block site at Southwest 12^th Avenue and Clay Street in downtown Portland, for Summit Real Estate Management. Work on the SERA Architects-designed project began last September with the demolition of a two-story office building at the site.

Crews with Bremik broke ground the following month on the project. The 64,500-square-foot building will contain 83 market-rate apartments ranging in size from 450-square-foot studios to 900-square-foot two-bedroom units. 聽The building’s ground floor will include a fitness room, leasing office, a bicycle storage space, and an interior courtyard.

The structure is being built with Hambro open-web steel joists and steel stud walls, and will have a brick veneer exterior with fiber cement board and metal paneling. Apartments will have wood floors with carpeted bedrooms and stainless appliances. The building is slated for completion by the end of this year.
