General contractor Andersen Construction is looking for firms to carry out mechanical, electrical and plumbing; fire protection; and window systems work at Oregon State University‘s Cordley Hall.

The overall project involves two existing laboratory and classroom buildings with office space and an auditorium. Work consists of two phases: Cordley Hall East and Cordley Hall West. The east building was built in 1965 and has five stories; the west building was built in 1959 and has four stories. Both are have concrete frames with brick cladding and aluminum ribbon window systems.

The project is being designed by Hennebery Eddy Architects and will see demolition of MEP systems in both buildings, installation of new interior partitions, doors and frames as well as finishes and other improvements. The two buildings will ultimately be converted into modern research labs with lecture halls and other offices. University officials expect the work to directly affect recruitment, retention and learning for students and researchers.

The project’s budget is approximately $100 million.

All bids are due before end of day on March 29.
