Isis Harris

journeyman electrician (IBEW Local 48) and owner of 3v3ryday Grind LLC

Isis Harris is a community galvanizer and organizer who actively works to recruit and promote construction careers to communities of color. A graduate of Constructing Hope, she served as the vice president of the Gus Miller chapter of the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus, IBEW Local 48.

In addition, Harris served on the Women Justice Advisory Committee and was a 2017 Fellow with the Portland chapter of the New Leaders Council. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Oregon Tradeswomen, the N/NE Leadership Action Plan Committee and the Quality Jobs Council.

Also the owner of 3v3ryday (pronounced: 鈥淓veryday鈥�) Grind LLC, a workwear apparel company, Harris provides mentoring and advice to many through her work with Oregon Tradeswomen, the Minority Caucus and the National Association of Minority Contractors-Oregon.

鈥淢entorship works to dispel some of the misconceptions about access to the industry, and helps others to see their own possibilities in regards to successfully entering and pursuing their own career in the industry,鈥� she said. 鈥淎s mentorship was essential in my journey, it is offered in the spirit of being a conduit for information and encouragement during what, for many, can be an intimidating life decision.鈥�

Harris is the founder, creator and organizer of the Community Pulse Series, a family-friendly community engagement experience specifically crafted to expose and educate women and communities of color to specific pathways into construction careers.

Molly Washington, chief programs officer with NAMC-Oregon, serves on the Oregon Tradeswomen Board of Directors with Harris and praised her ability to 鈥渦plift and inspire empowerment and self-determination.鈥� She added that 3v3ryday Grind dedicates some of its proceeds to providing direct financial support to people in need.
鈥淚sis is a person who is always finding ways to engage in the support of others and she actively undertakes that work every single day,鈥� Washington said.
