Katie Hall recalls seeking out small spaces that would be good hiding spots and creative nooks when she was a child, as well as a love of drawing structures. As she became more interested in architecture, she realized that, 鈥淭here isn鈥檛 anything we do that either doesn鈥檛 influence, is affected by or interacts with people.

鈥淲e couldn鈥檛 do any of this without each other. That鈥檚 why I love architecture so much. We always do it better when we do it together,鈥� she added.

Since joining PIVOT Architecture in 2009 and becoming a principal in 2021, Hall has cultivated an internal culture that prioritizes inclusivity, equity and diversity. Recognizing the value of embracing different perspectives and experiences, she strives to foster an environment where every team member feels valued and empowered.

鈥淚 think being able to see yourself in everyone is something that鈥檚 important and not always taught. If you wait to see yourself, you might be waiting longer than you would like. There is always room at the table, just hope you find the right table to be at,鈥� she said.

A member of the American Institute of Architects, Hall is part of the AIA Southwestern Oregon Design Excellence Committee and served as the chapter鈥檚 president in 2017. She also is a member of the Northwest & Pacific Region Conference Organization Committee and Emerging Professionals Leadership Committee.

鈥淜atie exemplifies an exceptional blend of kindness, generosity, humility and positivity, making her a truly outstanding individual. Moreover, she possesses a fierce determination and actively advocates for others,鈥� said Amber Kelel, director of business development for Systems West Engineers.

Hall鈥檚 community involvement includes serving as a volunteer for United Way Day of Caring and Sexual Assault Support Services of Lane County, and participating in city council meetings on housing.
