Stephanie Coyle

vice president at Hoffman Construction

Stephanie Coyle discovered her interest in construction during a summer internship and said she immediately appreciated its tangibility. 鈥淵ou weren鈥檛 just talking about solving problems. You had a plan and it took a little bit of creativity, but you put that plan into action and have something you can look at and say, 鈥業 helped make that.鈥欌

Coyle was the first person at Hoffman to become LEED certified more than 20 years ago. She started as a project engineer and quickly moved into project management. Her first assignment as a project manager was at Reed College, which ignited her passion for working on projects in the higher-education sector.

鈥淎s a trailblazer, Stephanie serves as an inspiration and role model to me and other women in the traditionally male-dominated construction field. Her leadership in the industry, her exceptional mentorship, and her dedication to improving the built environment are to be commended,鈥 said Hoffman Project Manager Noelle Idehara.

When Lincoln High School wanted to add a Construction Management CTE course to its curriculum, it partnered with Hoffman. Coyle leads the year-long course that teaches students about the multiple facets and tools required to manage a construction project, culminating in a capstone project that is presented to Hoffman advisors.

Through her involvement with the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs, Coyle engages with like-minded individuals, entrepreneurs and professionals who are passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion in business. She shares current opportunities to work with Hoffman and encourages OAME members to bid on them.

In 2018, Coyle took on the role of a coach and judge for the Youth Entrepreneurship Conference, which aims to provide training and guidance to youth between the ages of 14 and 21 and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as entrepreneurs.
