In the short 18 months that Kristy Nelson has worked with the team at Swinerton, she has gained everyone鈥檚 trust. She鈥檚 proven herself to be an invaluable resource in not only analyzing current workforce trends but assisting in strategy implementation for leveling up team members. So far, she鈥檚 rolled out 15 individual development plans for employees that have been flagged as high-performing with the potential to advance in the company.

Nelson said that she鈥檚 in awe of the builder talent she sees every day in her work.

鈥淚鈥檓 grateful I have the opportunity to be a part of employees鈥� career growth and that they鈥檙e open to teaching me, as well,鈥� she explained. 鈥淚 absolutely learn as much from them (and many times more) than I could ever teach them. I look up to those who say what they mean and mean what they say, and drive change, especially when the viewpoint is unpopular.鈥�

When she鈥檚 not working, Nelson can be found out and about in the community. She serves as a mock interviewer for Portland YouthBuilders, painter for the Multnomah Art Street Project, a presenter for Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), and as a plot adopter and gardener for Luscher Farm Adopt a Plot Program, which helps harvest food for Hunger Fighters.
