Ink Built Architecture is a women-owned firm founded in 2017 by principals Melynda Retallack and Andrea Wallace with a mission to redefine design’s potential for affordability, sustainability and social equity in the built environment.
The firm, which has grown to 12 employees over eight years, maintains 68 percent women ownership and actively works to advance women and underrepresented minorities in architecture. The company has achieved 84 percent gender balance and 33 percent underrepresented minority staff representation.
Ink Built has pioneered progressive workplace benefits including four-day work weeks for all staff and flexible schedules accommodating individual and family needs. The firm focuses on mentorship and equitable employee growth through paid continuing education and networking opportunities.
Recent projects include the Beaverton Year-Round Shelter and Timber Ridge Apartments, both recognized for design excellence and energy efficiency.
