Jake Tonnesson, senior project manager II at Mortenson, has built a 16-year career leading complex, high-visibility construction projects across dynamic markets.

His professional experience includes major commercial and civic projects in the Greater Seattle area, where he developed expertise navigating intricate customer relationships, governmental interfaces and community expectations.

Tonnesson was involved with Oregon鈥檚 new Hillsboro Hops ballpark, a $150 million, year-round entertainment venue designed to elevate community placemaking and meet evolving MLB player development standards. Under his leadership, construction progressed at an exceptional pace, with structural steel topping out ahead of schedule and the roof structure erected within days. The project maintained rigorous discipline around sequencing, budget alignment and daily on-site coordination while completing its fast-tracked schedule ahead of the 2026 season.

Tonnesson鈥檚 leadership approach emphasizes transparent communication across partners, stakeholders, designers, subcontractors and team members. His on-site presence champions pride and safety among craft team members, creating a culture where people feel valued, informed and accountable.
