Kayla Pingel, project manager at Mortenson, has built a 12-year career in construction defined by technical excellence and collaborative leadership.

A civil engineer by education, Pingel began her career with Mortenson’s federal contracting team, where she traveled across the country strengthening delivery on complex federal and defense programs. Her technical competence and ability to integrate quickly into regional teams earned recognition throughout the organization.

Since relocating to Portland, Pingel has contributed to critical infrastructure and cultural projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. Her portfolio includes mission-critical work with Bonneville Power Administration, modernization of the Portland Art Museum, and advanced manufacturing projects driving regional economic growth and innovation.

Beyond project delivery, Pingel maintains an active presence in community service and industry development. She volunteers with the American Heart Association Heart Walk and serves as a mentor through the ACE Mentor Program of Oregon, where she helps high school students explore careers in architecture, engineering and construction.
