Sundt Construction is one of the nation’s largest general contractors, tracing its roots to 1890 when founder M.M. Sundt established the company on a core principle of service. The firm has grown into a fully employee-owned enterprise with more than 4,000 employee-owners. It expanded to the Pacific Northwest in 2021.

The company’s portfolio spans roadways, rail, aviation, wastewater treatment, schools, parks, multi-family housing and utility-scale solar energy. Sundt is recognized for its self-perform capabilities in concrete, structures, earthwork, underground utilities, drainage systems and paving – giving it direct control over quality, schedule, safety and cost.

Sundt, in a joint venture with Tapani Inc., delivered the Boeckman Road Corridor Improvements project in Wilsonville. The project reduced roadway slope, added bike lanes and sidewalks, and improved safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. It was recognized with the AWPA Oregon Chapter’s Best Project Award.

The Sundt Foundation has awarded more than $420,000 in community grants in the Pacific Northwest. During the past two years, employee-owners have contributed more than 900 volunteer hours. To mark its 25th anniversary in 2024, the foundation launched Ink It & Pink It – a campaign that raised nearly $320,000 from nearly 500 donors nationwide. Proceeds supported breast cancer organizations such as Pink Lemonade in the Pacific Northwest.
