I-84 bridge work poses flooding risk
Work on the Interstate 84 bridge over the Sandy River near Troutdale is causing a significant flooding threat, the contractor on the project has learned. The contractor, Hamilton Construction, is working with the Oregon Department of Transportation to minimize the risk, but ODOT offered to cover nearby homeowners' premiums just in case.
Broadway Bridge will close Tuesday night
The Broadway Bridge will close from Tuesday at 8p.m. until 5a.m. Wednesday morning. The closure is due to work on the Portland Streetcar Loop project. According to Kay Dannen, spokeswoman for Portland Streetcar, the bridge will need to be raised as construction crews work to finish the welding on the span locks of the bridge.
