New fire station will be Portland’s water rescue hub
Portland Fire & Rescue's Station 21, near the Willamette River, will be replaced by a larger facility. The station will also be updated with a new dock and a 10,000-square-foot boathouse, which will house three boats operated by the fire department.
Old fire truck used for cleaning, testing
An old pumper truck, which was built for fire department work in Cornelius in 1973, is now used to pump water at 200 pounds per square inch through standpipes to test for leaks and clean them out. Basic Fire Protection performs cleaning and testing for approximately two buildings per week.
Hillsboro fire station up for bid
The city of Hillsboro is taking bids from contractors to construct a new fire station near Hillsboro Airport.
Gresham upgrading fire stations
The Gresham Fire Department received two grants to seismically upgrade four of its fire stations.
Bond measure would fund Portland fire station
Portland City Council today voted to put a $72.4 million bond measure on the November ballot, part of which will pay to construct a new fire station and new emergency response center.
Nonprofit to take over historic Portland firehouse
A music-focused nonprofit plans to lease the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center, which has been vacant since March.
PR firm leases renovated Portland fire house
AM-PM Public Relations, which represents the Associated General Contractors and Associated Oregon Industries, moved into Venerable Properties' redeveloped Fire Station No. 7 building at Southeast 11th Avenue and Stark Street, in Portland.
Portland fire station being replaced
A project to replace a fire station in outer Southeast Portland is the last new-construction project in the city's 1998 seismic upgrade bond. Work on Station 31 will start this fall and last about a year.
