Lewis & Clark residence hall designed by Mahlum
A new 169-bed residence hall at Lewis & Clark College in Southwest Portland will serve two groups in one community. The building, designed by Mahlum and under construction in a design-build partnership with Walsh Construction, will house both undergraduates and graduate and law students.
Salem Hospital to be designed by Mahlum Architects
The Salem Hospital will soon be modernized and easier to navigate. Building B, the hospital's oldest building, will receive improvements, and the Psychiatric Medicine Center will be completely renovated. The Building B project, designed by Mahlum Architects, will include a lobby renovation and a new public concourse to connect the main lobby with the north lobby.
Architecture firms see uptick in projects
As public financing for long-stalled projects begins to trickle in and banks' private lending increases, some architecture firms are bringing back employees they had laid off when work dried up during the recession. No one can be sure, however, if this slight uptick in work will last.
