MAX Green Line gets greener
TriMet is building a steel structure that will support wind turbines and solar panels to be installed in the future. The structure is being built at the terminus of the TriMet MAX Green Line on Southwest Jackson Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
Streetcar Loop Project
The Portland Streetcar Loop Project is being done in three- to four-block segments. The project is a 3.3-mile extension of the existing Portland Streetcar tracks.
Streetcar funding restrictions eased
At the Transportation Research Board Chairman's lunch on Wednesday, U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood announced plans to change how public transportation projects are selected to receive federal money via the Federal Transit Administration's New Starts and Small Starts programs.
