Erik Slomp with Inc. shortens bolts that hold some of the first rails for the Loop Project. The work is being done in three- to four-block segments; this one is on Northeast Grand Avenue between Lloyd Boulevard and Oregon Street. The project is a 3.3-mile extension of the existing Portland Streetcar tracks. The line will be extended from the Pearl District, across the Broadway Bridge to Lloyd Center, down Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and back up Grand Avenue to the Broadway Bridge. Stacy & Witbeck is the construction manager/general contractor for the $148 million project that should be completed in early 2012.
