After issuing an intent to award a contract to local firm Whelton Architecture for the rebuilding of Fire Station 21, the city of Portland has stepped back and is reconsidering ten proposals originally submitted for the project.
City admits mistake, rescinds award for Fire Station 21
After a competitive proposal process, the city of Portland issued an intent to award a $700,00 design contract to Whelton Architecture, one of four architecture firms short-listed for the project. On Tuesday, the city issued a notice that it was rescinding that award and stepping back in the process to once again conduct interviews with the short-listed candidates.
Whelton Architecture selected to design Fire Station 21
Whelton Architecture was selected this to design the city’s newest fire station. The city of Portland issued an intent to award a nearly $700,000 contract to Whelton after conducting interviews with shortlisted candidates Monday. Ten firms responded to a request for qualifications for the project.
New firefighters’ memorial reduced in scale
