Somethin' To Write Home About…

Listen to this article

We were pleasantly surprised when we received the bid results for the City of Seaside’s project for installing a 277/480 volt 350 KW generator to provide emergency standby power for the Seaside Civic and Convention Center.  The results were not in the typical format, just listing names and amounts. These results came with a very nice letter—one that the low bidder might want to frame and put in their office.

The letter was from the City of Seaside Public Works and addressed to The Honorable Mayor and Members of the Seaside City Council.  The letter stated, “All the bids appeared to be responsive, but Inland (Electric) was by far the lowest bid.  Staff has reviewed the bids and discussed the project with Inland Electric’s representative.  It appears that Inland spent a good deal of time at the Convention Center working out a cost effective way to bid the project.  This is an excellent bid from a local contractor that has worked successfully at the Convention Center in the past.  Staff recommends accepting the bid of $216,575 from Inland Electric.”

Kinda like getting a nice comment on your report card.  Nice job, , and congratulations!  You get an A+.
