Request for proposal submissions for Management/General Contractor services for NOAA’s Marine Operations Center were received by the Port of Newport on Oct. 6. and 11 companies responded.

The companies that submitted proposals were (listed in random order) LCG Pence-West Coast Contractors, Hoffman Construction, Emerick Construction, Chambers-Hamilton, Todd Construction, Skanska,  JE Dunn, Lease Crutcher Lewis, Slayden, Andersen-West Coast Contractors, and Turner construction.

Day CPM Services, providing project management oversight services for the Port, has released a “short list” of proposers that have been selected for interviews.  The contractors selected by the Port are Hoffman, Turner, Andersen-WCC and Todd Construction.  Interviews will take place all day on Oct. 21, and the notice of intent to award will occur on Oct. 22.

Although there is still some grumbling from our neighboring state to the north regarding the location chosen for the project, the City of Newport is elated that the project is in Oregon, and that the Port of Newport will be the home of the new facility.
