Whitaker/Ellis Builders Inc. crew members use Campbell Crane equipment to place one of 68 tilt-up panels for the new Petersen Elementary School in Scappoose.

When completed in summer 2010, the new 65,000-square-foot school at 52050 S.E. Third St. will have 21 classrooms, a media center, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, a kitchen, offices and a full playground with a covered area.

The project is being built by general contractor P&C Construction Co. from a design by architectural firm DLR Group.
