To capitalize on the growing art market on Northeast Alberta Street, the Alberta Arts Building will give artists a place to live, work and sell their wares.

A 28-year-old building that was the home of the Arthur Cole Candy Co. is being converted into nine two-story, live-work apartments. Three of the units will face Northeast Alberta Street while the other six will face 14th Avenue.

The general contractor for the project is Bremik Construction Inc., and the designer is Vallaster Corl Architects.
