Admiral Apartments becomes affordable housing

A building listed on the National Register of Historic Places is in the middle of being renovated to become affordable housing for elderly and disabled tenants.
The Admiral Apartments, a five-story building at the corner of Southwest Salmon Street and Park Avenue, will contain studio and one-bedroom units when completed in spring 2010.
The project is being built by general contractor Walsh Construction Co. from a design by SERA Architects for owner REACH Community Development.
