Oregon City Rivers project suspended

Developer CenterCal announced yesterday it is suspending the Rivers project in Oregon City, according to . Principal Fred Bruning blamed division in the city council that “seems to be causing factions to appear within the community,” according to a letter Bruning wrote to the city. The project would have been a lifestyle center mall on top of the former Rossman Landfill site.
Bruning said he would consider returning to the project after November elections, when the mayor’s and two commission seats are up for grabs.
Meanwhile, Oregon City Mayor Alice Norris said the city may develop parts of the site.
