McKay Elementary School is one of four Beaverton School District schools getting seismic upgrades through the Oregon Emergency Management Seismic Rehabilitation Grant Program. The walls and the roof of the school at 7485 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road are being strengthened for earthquake resistance. Other upgrades include new HVAC units, water pipe replacement, new fixtures, new hallway finishes, and countertop and cabinet repair. Triplett Wellman Inc. is the general contractor and Architects Barrentine Bates Lee is the designer of the renovation project.
