The new ramp across Southeast Powell Boulevard in Portland is part of an Oregon Department of Transportation project to improve Powell Boulevard. The project consists of reconstructing 127 ramps and building 48 new ramps on Powell from Southeast 51st Avenue to Interstate 205. Also, eight new vegetated storm-water treatment planters will be installed, two new marked pedestrian crossings will be constructed and more than 10,000 tons of asphalt will be added to the street. Canby general contractor Parker Northwest Paving Co. is in charge of the project that should wrap up by the end of 2010.
