Parking spaces were turned into 30 temporary parks in the metropolitan area for five hours during PARK(ing) Day on Friday. The annual event, started five years ago in San Francisco, is focused on creating green space in dense urban areas. PARK(ing) Day also raises awareness for the Intertwine, a coalition of financial partners and public and private organizations working to connect and protect local parks, trails and open spaces.
