Sorority renovates former gas station

A former gas station in North Portland is being converted into a community center. The Portland chapter of the predominantly African-American sorority Delta Sigma Theta purchased the property at 5940 N. Albina St. nearly two decades ago with the plan of developing it for the community. Colas Construction is the general contractor and Nye Architecture is the designer of the project being funded partially by the Portland Development Commission.
