Environmental nonprofit Sierra Club has come out with a list of (You may notice the headline reads “coolest,” not “greenest” – apparently, the words are interchangeable for the Sierra Club. And well, aren’t they?)
Portland’s liberal arts conclave was the highest ranking school in Oregon on the list – at No. 37. Kind of surprising, I’d say, for a state that is supposedly synonymous with recycling, organics, light rail and hemp. But Lewis & Clark actually jumped from No. 77 in last year’s ranking, so kudos.
The rankings are based on criteria like energy supply, efficiency, food, academics and waste management. The schools filled out questionnaires, which were scored.
