Oregon construction leaders and state legislators worked hard to develop and then fine-tune a scrap-metal recycling law they hoped would minimize construction site metal-theft problems that had reached epidemic proportions. Has it accomplished its intended goals?

Law enforcement officers, district attorneys and metal recyclers will weigh in as part of a daylong workshop presented by the . The workshop also will feature an afternoon session on the National Equipment Register.

The workshop is free for CICPP members and law enforcement officers; all others will be charged $50.

When: Thursday, from 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
