Designers and builders who are interested in learning more about sourcing local, sustainably harvested wood should mark their calendars for 鈥淔SC Friday鈥� on Sept. 30 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.聽 During this afternoon event, , will host a roundtable discussion about sourcing wood sustainably and what architects and builders need to know about the (FSC) and its recognition by the U.S. Green Building Council’s .

There will be a panel of local leaders who will talk about the following topics:

• What can Portland’s building community do to further the discussion about sustainable wood?
• How do certification standards compare?
• Does LEED 2012 raise the wood standard?
• How can designers source local, sustainable wood, regardless of its certification?

The panel of experts will include:

• FSC Northwest Regional Coordinator Diane Moody
• Cascadia Green Building Council representative Kelley Beamer
• SERA Architect Clark Brockman
• FSC Auditor Paul Vanderford
• Moderated by Ryan Temple
