Hello, Oregon. Here’s what’s up and what’s going up around the state.
. Apple has confirmed plans to build a data center in Prineville. The tech giant has purchased 160 acres of land from Crook County for $5.6 million, according to TV station KTVZ. Until now, Apple’s plan was pretty secret and only known as “Project Maverick.” Apple isn’t sharing many details.
. A bill that would allow tolling to help fund the Interstate 5 freeway and bridge project is making its way through the Washington Legislature. The bill could go to a floor vote in the House as soon as next week.
Portland Parks & Recreation has $10,000 donated to fix up one of three dog parks in the city. But which one will it be? The bureau is . A vote was the idea of the Trail Blazers and Banfield Pet Hospital, who both donated the money.
. The city of Portland will break ground March 6 on the new Fields Park in the Pearl District. The park will include play areas for children, a dog park and a Portland Loo. It’s planned to be finished by winter 2013.
