Naomi Levelle-Haslitt of Miller Nash LLP is the 鈥済o to鈥� employment lawyer for a range of Portland entities, from an international manufacturer to the state鈥檚 largest school district, said Miller Nash partner Michael Porter.

鈥淣aomi is an extremely dedicated professional who continually delivers outstanding results for her clients,鈥� he said. 鈥淲hat is truly remarkable is that Naomi also finds time to excel within Miller Nash and in the community.鈥�

Levelle-Haslitt鈥檚 community work includes serving on the board of Open Meadows Alternative Schools, whose director, Andrew Mason, also sang her praises.

鈥淣aomi鈥檚 creativity and persistence tirelessly promotes activities that get results re-engaging education鈥檚 underdogs 鈥� students who are low income, students of color 鈥� all of the shamrock-shaped pegs that don鈥檛 fit into the square hole of the traditional system,鈥� he said.

Levelle-Haslitt in 2007 graduated cum laude from Willamette University Law School, where she concentrated in employment and labor relations law as well as education law.

She serves as secretary/treasurer on the DePaul Treatment Centers board of directors. She served as a program volunteer and presenter for Summer Youth Concert: Ninth Grade Counts, and is a past volunteer for both Blanchet House and Habitat for Humanity. She also speaks at continuing education sessions and conferences in human resources.

She is a member of the Oregon Minority Lawyers Association, is on the board of directors of the Oregon Women Lawyers Association and is vice president of the Oregon Chapter of the National Bar Association. As a member of the Employment Law Alliance, she established the Higher Education Council, which formed last fall. The council has since hosted a national reception in Seattle and filed two amicus briefs before the National Labor Relations Board. 鈥� Beverly Corbell

What was your least favorite law school course and why?

Property. I can鈥檛 identify a particular reason, though 鈥� it just didn鈥檛 grab me.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would actually enjoy running.

What can you spend hours doing that鈥檚 not law related?

Reading鈥�for fun!

What song is in heavy rotation on your iPod?

If you can believe it, I don鈥檛 actually have an iPod. I do listen to Pandora on my phone a lot though and currently the station that is in heavy rotation is my QuickMix with Bob Dylan, Adele, and 鈥�90鈥檚 hip-hop.
