The law firm of Cauble & Cauble has been named the 2015 Oregon Small Business of the Year in the Better Business Bureau鈥檚 2015 Torch Awards.
The Torch Awards are presented annually to business that exhibit outstanding service to their customers and clients. In order to be considered for the award, a business must be in good standing with the BBB.
This year鈥檚 pool of nominated judges was narrowed down to 85 finalists from Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington, the area covered by the local BBB, said Sophie Dichter, Oregon public relations manager for the BBB. Each state then selected its own independent panel of judges to select winners

Christopher Cauble, a Cauble and Cauble partner, attributes his firm鈥檚 award to a staff dedicated to client satisfaction and community service.
The firm, which is based in Grants Pass but handles cases around the state, formed in the early 1920s.

The firm went through a series of name changes and partners. In the early 1970鈥檚, Cauble鈥檚 father, Walter, joined the firm. Christopher later joined him.
These days, about half of the firm鈥檚 practice is litigation, including construction litigation, real estate, real property and trust litigation. The other half focuses on transactions and estate planning, Christopher Cauble said.
In addition to four paralegals, the firm also has a third attorney, Rachele Selvig. Cauble said he expects the firm to add a fourth attorney near the end of the year.
The Torch Awards will be presented on Sept. 23 at the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce Spotlight on Business awards ceremony. Joining Cauble and Cauble as Oregon winners will be Vacasa, which was named the 2015 Oregon Large Business of the Year, and John鈥檚 Waterproofing Co., named the 2015 Oregon Medium Business of the Year.
