A two-phase tenant improvement project will eventually double the space for a Wilsonville veterinary clinic. The Animal Care Clinic at 29020 Town Center Loop E. will have more than 3,800 square feet of space for a reception area, clinic rooms, a surgery room and offices. BnK Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the renovation designed by Architectural Werks of Kirkland, Wash.

An extensive renovation of the Uptown Tower is now under way at the corner of St. Clair Avenue and West Burnside Street. The eight-story, 72-unit affordable housing building will receive a new eco-roof, siding, windows, paint, entry canopies, exterior finishes and sidewalk upgrades. Work on the interior will include lobby improvements, office upgrades and HVAC system upgrades. Residents on each floor will be moved out for one week while units gain new kitchens, floor covering, appliances, lighting and electrical upgrades. Also, a former convenience store on the ground level will be transformed into a tenant activity and storage facility. LMC Construction is the general contractor and Carleton Hart Architecture is the designer of the project for owner Guardian Management.

An upgrade is under way at Northwest Portland condominium complex Sutton Place, more than 90 years old. When the renovation of the west side wraps up in about six weeks, the building at the corner of Northwest Everett Street and 18th Avenue will have new windows, a repaired roof and fire escape and repaired water damage. General contractor J.R. Johnson Inc. is working with the condo owners association to complete the project.

The Port of Portland deicing system enhancement project at the Portland International Airport is designed to protect water quality in the Columbia Slough. Anti-icing and deicing materials used on runways during cold weather will be captured and then piped to storage tanks and a treatment plant at the west end of the airport. General contractor JE Dunn Construction Co. is in charge of the project designed by CDM.

A crew from D&R Masonry Restoration uses a power washer to clean the Wells Fargo tower in downtown Portland. The 41-story skyscraper is being cleaned and inspected for water intrusion. The exterior of the four-story Wells Fargo Data Center across the street is being cleaned and caulked where necessary. The work should be completed in a few weeks.

The five-story Miracles Club Apartments in Northeast Portland will provide 40 apartments for individuals in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction who have been sober for at least 18 months. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification is being targeted for the project being built by Walsh Construction Co. from a design by Carleton Hart Architecture. Work is scheduled to wrap up in early summer.

The four-story Move the House Apartments complex in Southeast Portland will have ground-level retail space and three stories of one- and two-bedroom apartments. The unusual name came from the two-story house that was moved from the property and will be renovated as part of the project. A sky-bridge corridor with contemporary glazing will connect the building’s two halves. A street-level courtyard will allow pedestrian movement to the back of the property. Green building aspects include a permeable courtyard surface with vegetated planters to manage storm water. Lorentz Bruun Construction is the general contractor and FBD Architects is the designer of the project for Urban Development Partners.
