Lawmakers approve $140M for 2 projects
Two major construction projects approved today by the state legislature include a $65 million renovation of a Oregon Department of Transportation building and a new $75 million dormitory at the University of Oregon.
11 firms up for University of Oregon project
Eleven architecture firms responded to a request for qualifications to work on the Allen Hall remodel project at the University of Oregon. The $15 million project is scheduled to begin construction in the summer of 2011. University officials plan to hold interviews by the end of January and notify the winning firm in the first week of February.

A $3 million funding gap could force the Eugene Emeralds to leave the city they have called home for nearly 40 years. The minor-league baseball team last week announced a tentative 20-year lease at the University of Oregon's new $20 million ball field, which is expected to be completed in February 2010.
