A former warehouse with high wooden beams and skylights in Portland’s Pearl District is in the middle of an extensive renovation to become a home for retail businesses. The one-story, 20,000-square-foot structure at the corner of Northwest 14th Avenue and Flanders Street is getting seismic, electrical, HVAC and plumbing upgrades and a new storefront with lots of glass and roll-up doors. The general contractor for the project is Robert Gray Partners for developers George, Mike and Nicholas Diamond, partners in local commercial real estate company Real Estate Investment Group, and Dennis Sackhoff and Wally Remmers of West Hills Development. The remodel should be completed by June 1.
