Fifty students from the Portland area participated in the sixth annual ZGF Career Day at the Portland architectural firm’s downtown offices. During the daylong event, students were given a tour of the firm’s offices and then taken on a walking tour highlighting the various types of architecture and design used in downtown buildings. After lunch, students broke up into small groups and, led by ZGF architects, performed basic design for a fictitious elementary school. The groups then presented their designs to the entire group. Career Day is also sponsored by Portland Public Schools and the Portland Workforce Alliance.
