Attentiveness to details and social impact of designs set Holst Architecture apart. Navigating needs of both clients and communities is a running theme through the firm’s designs. The 79,000-square-foot 72Foster was Holst’s largest completed affordable housing building to date and one of the first of its kind tailored toward intergenerational families. Argyle Gardens, a modular cohousing development in North Portland, then showed that a touch of vibrancy lends a notable hand in awakening and welcoming an atmosphere. The project’s focus is to transition individuals out of homelessness.

Holst is a women-owned firm that drives to bring out the details in all of its designs. Kim Wilson serves as one of the owners and the quality director and touches every detail that leaves the firm’s doors and out into the built environment. Socially impactful design choices are expected to become important in Portland moving forward, and Holst is up to the task.
