POWER LIST: ARCHITECTURE

A renewed focus on health, equity and resources drives Bora Architecture & Interiors.
鈥淐limate change is the fundamental challenge,鈥 principal Chris Linn said.
The firm is looking at reducing carbon in its building designs as well as embodied carbon by selecting materials with a low manufacturing carbon output.
For the modernization of Lincoln High School, now under construction, Bora designed one of the first high-rise schools west of the Mississippi River. Four monumental staircases were placed on the four corners of the building, promoting health through movement.
Bora also is tackling the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact (KCASI) at the University of Oregon. Phase one of the project is a 160,000-square-foot research facility that鈥檚 two L-shaped towers joined by a glass catwalk.
Linn said the focus on health, equity, and carbon came two years ago and has been the central mission since.
