PDX Concourse E extension (co-designed with Fentress Architects), Portland

Hennebery Eddy has made a commitment to creating long-lasting, sustainable projects. Its robust portfolio includes the extension of Portland International Airport’s Concourse E, the Columbia Square lobby, the Reserve, and the Rothko Pavilion. Rather than delving into a defining style, the firm’s design approach focuses on editing down to the essentials. Hennebery Eddy also emphasizes a “net-positive” approach to sustainable design, first striving to reduce carbon as much as possible and then utilizing passive design strategies.

The PDX Concourse E extension was co-designed with Fentress Architects. The 800-foot-long extension was squeezed into a narrow section and embodied with a wall of windows so light can flood the interior spaces, plus take advantage of a view of Mount Hood. Patterns used in the interior tie into the Pacific Northwest. The project is expected to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold rating.
