PROJECT: NW Line JATC

SIGNIFICANCE OF PROJECT: These two new buildings for NW Line JATC will allow collaboration between International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) contractors. They will be able to offer their members training in outside line construction and power-line clearance tree trimming.

The men and women of IBEW and NECA build and maintain electrical systems around the clock. These individuals often take on high-risk situations throughout all types of environmental conditions. NW Line JATC provides the necessary training required for people to become professional journeymen.

Both buildings will feature pre-engineered steel. The commercial building will have space for 12 offices, a boardroom, and three classrooms 鈥� two of which will be able to become one multipurpose room able to accommodate 330 people. The training center will have three classrooms, on-site tool storage, locker rooms, a mezzanine with four offices, and a large training room with asphalt flooring and 48-foot-high ceilings to accommodate training poles.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to be an ongoing challenge for the construction team. It’s working to acquire materials via disrupted supply chains, keep on-site personnel safe and healthy, and maintain project schedules.
