PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE: Northwest Line JATC (Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee), established in 1957, had outgrown its existing facility. These two new buildings, totaling nearly 40,000 square feet, will provide NW Line JATC space for training IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and NECA聽(National Electrical Contractors Association) members in outside line construction and power-line clearance tree trimming.
The commercial building has 12 offices, a boardroom, and three classrooms 鈥 including two that can be combined to accommodate up to 330 people. The training center has three classrooms, on-site tool storage, locker rooms, an observation mezzanine with four offices, and a large, enclosed training yard with asphalt flooring and 48-foot-high ceilings to accommodate training poles.聽There also will be an outdoor training yard.
