A new, purpose-built residence hall is planned to serve first-year students at Portland State University. The project is expected to strengthen connections to the surrounding academic and cultural environment while bringing renewed energy and vibrancy to the area. The bottom two floors of the six-story building would be type I-A concrete construction and the upper four floors would be type III-A construction with wood-bearing walls. The gross building area would be 120,116 square feet. Modifications are requested for ground-floor windows and required building lines.

The proposed design calls for a four-story, wood-framed building with surface parking on the southern side of the lot and vehicular access on Southeast 85th Avenue. The building would total 59,700 square feet, with a footprint of 14,925 square feet per floor.
