The proposal is for modernization of Ida B. Wells High School via site redevelopment. The school will be replaced with a new building on the site’s south side. Modifications are requested to the maximum setback requirement on Southwest Vermont Street as well as the percentage of vehicle space on Vermont Street and Burlingame Avenue.

Plans call for altering a site with a gas station and a small attendant kiosk. The gas station will remain as is, while the kiosk and one dispensing unit on the east side will be removed and replaced by a two-story convenience store. The second floor will include 937 square feet of retail space and 333 square feet of office space. A modification is requested to the 20-foot maximum setback, and an adjustment is requested to the minimum FAR (floor area ratio) standard.
