A weekly list of highlights from commercial land use review activity in Portland by Permitting & Development in the prior week.

Type 1 procedure (historic resource review) – pending
Address: 2211 S.W. Park Place
Applicant: Renee Ferrera of Washington Park Condos
Owner: Association of Unit Owners of Washington Park Condos

The project is the eventual installation of mini-split heat pumps in the 38 units of the Washington Park Condos. The compressor will be located on the existing balcony of each unit. These balconies are identical in size and symmetrically located at the four corners of the building for each of the upper nine floors and on the east-facing corners for the two first-floor units. Except for the compressor, the remaining equipment and work is interior to the unit. This is a non-contributing resource in the King’s Hill Historic District.

Type 1 procedure (design review) – pending
Address: 15 N.E. Broadway
Applicant: Gonzalo Cervantes of Pronto Signs LLC of Keizer
Owner: PacWest Energy LLC of Meridian, Idaho

Plans call for retrofitting an existing illuminated pole sign with new faces and new digital gas price units.

Type 2 procedure (design review with modifications) – pending
Address: 1310 N.E. 9th Ave.
Applicant: Michael Reis of WORKS Architecture
Owner: Careyoke JV LP of New York

The applicant is proposing installation of three signs (a modification is requested to allow increased size of changing-image signage), entry awning and an in-wall ATM at the south elevation. These are changes to the previously approved design review.
