Appraisers skeptical of green-certified home prices
Green-certified homes fetched premiums that were 30 percent higher than non-certified homes in the Portland area, according to new data released by the Earth Advantage Institute. But others in the green valuation industry argue that the analysis is misleading.
LEED-like program for safety created by Oregon researchers
Two Oregon State University researchers have created a rating system for construction site safety modeled partially after LEED. The Sustainable Construction Safety and Health certification program was launched online recently, and its developers hope to soon leverage support from national organizations to create a full-scale program.
